These terms describe how RupeeLens services may be used and the responsibilities attached to that use.

RupeeLens Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of RupeeLens mobile and API services. By creating or using an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What RupeeLens Provides

RupeeLens is a personal finance platform that currently includes:

  • OTP-based sign-in and account management.
  • Transaction tracking, summaries, and spending insights.
  • Savings goals and progress tracking.
  • Payment reminders and related insights.
  • Shared expense groups, balances, expenses, and settlements.
  • AI-assisted financial guidance and categorization support.
  • Push notifications and user activity tracking.

2. Eligibility and Account Use

  • You are responsible for keeping your device and login access secure.
  • You must provide accurate information when using profile and finance features.
  • You may not use RupeeLens for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activities.

3. Financial Advice Disclaimer

  • RupeeLens provides informational guidance, not professional investment, tax, legal, or credit advice.
  • AI responses can be useful but are not guaranteed to be complete or suitable for every situation.
  • You are responsible for your financial decisions.

4. AI and External Service Providers

To deliver core features, the app may use third-party providers, including:

  • OTP verification infrastructure.
  • Push notification delivery services.
  • LLM infrastructure for AI advisor/categorization flows.
  • Object storage for file/icon retrieval.

Provider usage is controlled by backend configuration and code paths. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled in each flow.

5. Acceptable Data Use

You grant RupeeLens permission to process the data you submit to operate, secure, and improve the product, including analytics, reminders, insights, and AI features. We aim for minimal and purpose-bound data use.

6. Account Deletion

You can request deletion through DELETE /api/auth/delete-account with confirmation. The current backend implementation performs hard deletion of user-linked records across app tables.

7. Availability and Changes

  • We may update features, APIs, or behavior for reliability, security, or compliance.
  • We may update these Terms and revise the last-updated date when material changes are made.
